At Creekside Chiropractic we truly eliminate the cookie cutter, standard assembly line approach. We review your entire case and health history and then we go to work.
Healthcare Is Personal
Choosing a doctor is more than finding someone with a convenient office location. Your healthcare relationship can influence how comfortable you feel asking questions, how well your concerns are understood, and how confident you feel about your treatment plan. The right doctor for you may not be the right doctor for someone else—and that’s okay.
You Should Feel Heard
One of the most important parts of a healthcare relationship is communication. You should have an opportunity to explain what you are experiencing, ask questions, and discuss your goals. A good visit is not necessarily the longest visit, but it should give you enough room to understand what is happening and what the next steps are.
Look for Someone Who Understands Your Goals
Your healthcare goals matter. Maybe you want to remain active, improve your mobility, manage a chronic condition, return to exercise, or simply feel more confident about your health. When your doctor understands what matters to you, the conversation can become more meaningful and your care plan can be more practical.
Trust Matters—but So Does Evidence
Feeling comfortable with a doctor is important, but trust should be paired with good medical care. Look for a professional who explains recommendations clearly, discusses benefits and risks, answers reasonable questions, and uses appropriate testing and evidence. You should not feel pressured to accept a treatment you do not understand.
Consider the Whole Experience
The doctor is only one part of the healthcare experience. Consider whether the office communicates clearly, whether appointments are reasonably accessible, whether follow-up is available when needed, and whether the staff treats you respectfully. A great clinical relationship can be difficult to maintain if the overall system consistently creates barriers to care.
Second Opinions Can Be Valuable
Seeking a second opinion does not automatically mean you distrust your first doctor. For major diagnoses, significant procedures, complex situations, or treatment decisions that you are unsure about, another qualified professional may provide useful perspective. A second opinion can sometimes confirm the original recommendation or help you understand other reasonable options.
The Right Fit Can Make a Difference
Finding the right doctor is ultimately about building a healthcare relationship that is respectful, informed, and centered on your needs. You want someone whose expertise fits your concerns, whose communication style works for you, and who is willing to work with you toward realistic goals. Taking time to find that fit can be one of the most important steps you take for your long-term health.
If your Doctor gets mad when you ask a question, when you bring up a new pain in your back, or that your blood pressure has been high lately, it’s probably time to find a new doctor. Yes, those are actual examples I have been given in my clinic. These are all good tips to follow when selecting a Chiropractor or PCP. If you need help figuring out if a change is warranted or if you need to find a PCP, call us at Creekside Chiropractic, and we will help navigate that with you. Nothing comes before the patient and their care, and that is how it will always be here.
